These terms explain how we work with you and what each of us can expect. Please read them before you engage us, and ask us about anything that is unclear.
About us
In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Careers Bridge, which provides career services under the Careers Bridge brand. “You” means the person engaging us for services. You can contact us via info@careersbridge.uk, or write to us at the address shown on our Contact page.
Our services
We provide career support to individual job seekers, including:
- Reverse recruitment, where our team searches for suitable roles and applies for them on your behalf, with your approval
- NHS reverse recruitment, focused on roles within the NHS and wider UK healthcare
- CV writing for the UK job market
- Resume writing for international applications
- LinkedIn profile optimisation
- Cover letter writing
The exact services, deliverables and timescales for your engagement will be those set out in our written confirmation to you. Descriptions on our website explain our services in general terms and only form part of our agreement where we confirm them in writing.
How an engagement starts
Consultation
We start with a conversation about your background, goals and the support you are looking for, so we can recommend the right service.
Written confirmation
We confirm the agreed scope, deliverables, fees and any timescales in writing, usually by email.
Your agreement
Our contract begins when you accept that confirmation and, where applicable, pay any amount due upfront. We do not start work before then.
If anything in our written confirmation differs from these terms, the written confirmation takes priority for that engagement.
Your responsibilities
Good results depend on working together. You agree to:
- Give us accurate, complete and up-to-date information about your experience, qualifications, right to work and circumstances
- Review drafts and answer our questions within a reasonable time
- Approve or decline the roles we suggest promptly, so that opportunities are not missed
- Tell us straight away if your circumstances change, for example if you accept a job or no longer want certain types of role
- Attend interviews and assessments that result from applications you have approved, or let the employer know in good time if you cannot
- Check final documents before you use them and tell us about anything that is incorrect
We rely on the information you give us. We are not responsible for problems caused by information that is inaccurate or incomplete, or by delays in your approvals or feedback.
Applications made on your behalf
For reverse recruitment services, we will only submit applications for roles that you have approved. Where you ask us to use job board or application accounts in your name, we will treat any login details you share with us as confidential and use them only for your search.
You remain the applicant at all times. Decisions about attending interviews, accepting a job offer or agreeing terms of employment are yours alone. We will never accept or decline an offer for you.
No guarantee of interviews or employment
We will carry out our services with reasonable care and skill. However, hiring decisions are made by employers and depend on many factors outside our control, such as the job market and competition for roles. We therefore cannot and do not guarantee that you will receive interviews, job offers or any particular salary or outcome.
Our fees are for the work we carry out, not for results. They are not refundable simply because an application does not lead to an interview or a job.
Fees and payment
Our fees, and when they are due, will be set out in our written confirmation. Unless we agree otherwise, fees must be paid before work begins or in line with the payment schedule we have agreed. If a payment is overdue, we may pause work until it is received.
We will not charge you anything that we have not agreed with you in writing first. If you ask for extra work beyond the agreed scope, we will confirm any additional cost before we start it.
Your right to cancel
If you are a consumer, you have the right to cancel your contract with us within 14 days without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. The cancellation period ends 14 days after the day our contract is formed.
To cancel, let us know clearly via info@careersbridge.uk before the cancellation period ends.
If you ask us to start work during the cancellation period and then cancel, you may have to pay for the work we have already carried out up to the point you tell us. If we have fully completed the service within the cancellation period at your request, you will lose the right to cancel. We will ask you to confirm that you understand this before we begin.
Where you are entitled to a refund after cancelling, we will pay it within 14 days of hearing from you, using the same payment method you used unless we agree otherwise.
Refunds and putting things right
If you are not happy with a document we have written, please tell us. Where our written confirmation includes revisions, we will make reasonable changes within the agreed scope. If any part of our service has not been carried out with reasonable care and skill, we will put it right or, where that is not possible, offer an appropriate refund.
Apart from your cancellation rights and the situations described above, fees are not usually refundable once work has started. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Ownership of your documents
Once you have paid in full, the CV, resume, cover letters, LinkedIn content and other documents we write for you belong to you, and you may use and edit them as you wish. We keep the right to use our general methods, templates and know-how in our work for others, but we will never share your personal documents except as described in these terms and our Privacy Policy.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including your rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, we are not responsible for:
- Decisions made by employers, recruiters or other third parties
- Losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when our contract was formed
- Business losses, such as loss of profit or business opportunity, as our services are provided for your personal use
Subject to the same exceptions, our total liability to you in connection with an engagement will not exceed the total fees you have paid for that engagement.
Confidentiality
We treat the information you share with us as confidential and use it only to provide our services. We will only disclose it where needed to deliver your services, such as submitting applications you have approved, as described in our Privacy Policy, or where the law requires it.
Ending an engagement
Outside the cancellation period, you can end our services at any time by letting us know in writing. You will need to pay for work completed up to that point, as set out in our written confirmation. We may end our services if you seriously break these terms, for example by giving us false information or not paying agreed fees, and we will explain why.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with any part of our service, please contact us via info@careersbridge.uk with details of your concern. We will acknowledge your complaint, look into it fairly and keep you updated until it is resolved.
Using our website
Please do not misuse our website, try to gain unauthorised access to it or copy its content without permission. Our Disclaimer explains the limits of the information we publish.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your engagement is the one in place when our contract was formed, unless we agree a change with you.
Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales, although if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
